Trekking Nepal in July

Could you be a little bit more specific ? 2 - 5 weeks is quite a wide time range.
The 3 passes trek is possible in July. Trek early and reach your destination by mid day (though not always possible in the 3 pass trek).

Hey,

thanks for your post! I meant 2 and a half week as an estimate, should have been more clear i guess
do you know whether it is very difficult to get to the starting point of the trek because of the monsoon and the resulting flight dekays etc.? And are the lodges open during this period of time or are tents necessary to bring?

Thanks for your help!

It’s just my opinion.. I would (I did) start from Lukla - instead of the long walk from Jiri. That gives me the benefit of a longer time in and around Namche. Keep a couple of days on both sides of the trek. The early morning flights from Katmandu to Lukla are mostly punctual.
Reach Lukla & you will find enough 'Guides' & 'Porters' to bargain with. Select the porter you like - not the lowest bidder. Then haggle with him over the rates. Don’t expect a wide variation in rates anyway!
There will be many agencies in Katmandu who would insist that you take Porters from them. I just prefer booking the flights through them.
Lodges will be open and these days the Lodges are forever growing in number. This is where the 'Porter' comes in handy. Once he understands your preferences, he will make sure that you do not miss the right Lodges.
