hi, i would like to go for this carnival, from london
any experienced mates here can give me some suggestion how can i go and save money
ist still good time to get cheap stuff as its fall on 6 feb, 2 months to go
and i dun think i am able to enjoy whole carnival period
so which part of the period is better for fun, and taking picture?
i found brussel airline and ryan air have route, but i dun like latter
hows brussel airline, i dun know this airline...
is it good? or a lot hidden charges like ryan?
i checked from 6 feb - 10 feb, cost 280 return
ist good price?

That seems expensive but I guess it's carnevale period, but if you could travel mid-week, it could be cheaper still for the flights, e.g. 10th to 14th would be just under £100 with Easyjet. The carnevale next year starts on 6th and ends on 16th February.
Staying in Venice at this time of year would be expensive, so look into staying in other towns on the direct train route, such as Treviso, Padova or Vicenza. The regional train is very cheap to get on, and the cost for food etc would be cheaper too than in Venice. Or if you're intent on staying right in the heartbeat of the carnevale, book really early (read: now) while reasonable hostel room prices are still available. But do bewarn, food costs during this period may be quite high.
There would be plenty of people in costume walking everywhere that you will have plenty of photo opportunities. They move along slowly, stop to pose for reasonable lengthy period of time, so make sure you have plenty of juice and memory for your camera! Near weekend but not quite weekend would be the best time in my opinion, when it's reasonably festive and busy but not uncomfortably jammed.
(Personally I think 5 days is a bit too much time for Venice, particularly when it's jammed packed with visitors, everything's expensive etc, but that's me - and the last time I went for carnevale I even opted to stay as far as Verona, which is less than 1 hour from Venice that I could get in and out as I wish, thus enjoying the beautiful Veneto region as well as taking in the carnival spirit at the same time.)

should be more than enough... i think i will prefer to stay in town area as i am quite lazy to take transportation again, its wasting of time to me... perhaps i can get a hostel that can cook, can be cheaper, i suppose...
and as ur opinion, nearly end of the carnival is better time to enjoy?

The regional train cost only a few euro one way, e.g. Venice-Padova €2.90 one way (48 mins), Venice-Treviso €2.35 (32 mins), Venice-Vicenza €4.25 (50 mins). For a few euro more (so give or take €6-7 one-way) you can take faster EC trains and reduce travelling time by about half. The time indicated is the shortest I can see for that price, but of course it depends on which train connection you take. You can check for trains on Trenitalia website.
One tip:
If you find that Venice is just too expensive consider going to another Carneval town. Basel, Mainz and Cologne have noteable Carneval celebrations too and they aren't nearly as expensive. I think you'll especially like Basel. Since the dates are different for the Carneval in Basel and Cologne you could even go and see both.
The dates to be in Cologne are Thu 11th Feb, Mon 15th Feb and Tue 16th Feb 2010.
The dates to be in Basel are from Monday 22th Feb to Thursday 25th Feb 2010.

hi, thanks, i checked, Mestre is pretty near to venice ctr, and it forms triangle between marco polo airport and venice, looks good to travel to and from...
but i dun understand what did u mean by above highlighted part
and seems like from Mestre to Venice ctr should be about 15-20mins?
and ist one way?

Very simple. You have to take the bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma. So when you get out of the airport you ask for the bus to Venice, Piazzale Roma.
Once you are at Piazzale Roma you walk. You can find the directions on top of the page.

THere is only one hostel, it is Alba di Oro Camping near the airport.
