Hi guys,
Just a quick one - i am travelling to NZ in March for a few months, i am being joined by 2 friends for the first month and will then have a month or so on my own.
1) what is the best option in terms of travelling - hiring a van or buyin second hand and selling it once i leave? and can someone suggest the most economic way of going about finding a vehicle i.e. websites, in persn on arrival in NZ etc.
2) what sort of iteniary would people suggest for the 1st month so my 2 friends can experience the best of NZ and then for my month of individual travel where i can explore parts of the islands we may have left outt in the 1st month?
Cheers
Steve
Hi steve I think that a van or car is the perfect option for traveling to NZ. I don't know if is better buy then hire depends how many time you spend there too. Public transport too are good. I did 45 days by bus and was been fantastic.
For a good itinerary I tell you what i did.
Auckland-Pahia-Bay of island-Rotorua-Taupo-Tongariro N.P. -Wellington - Picton-Abel Tasman N.P. Greymouth-Franz Josef Glaciar-Wanaka-Queenstown-The Anau-Manapouri-Invercargill (3 day in the Catlins region by car) - Dunedin-Christchurch.
I hope this help you
