Adrenaline activities around the world

Most people seem to take part in some sort of adrenaline-fuelled activity whilst they're travelling; in fact, it seems like some people feel almost pressured to do so! I've met loads of people who went white-water rafting in Jinja, Uganda, because it was "a thing to do".

The world's highest bunjee jump off the railway bridge across Victoria Falls, down to the Zambezi River.... Backwards. I was there.

Usually I'm a city break kind of girl.

When I was in Vancouver, my friends and I headed for Whistler. We went ziplining and glacier hiking - not exactly up the rank with bungy jump or skydiving, but something different alright. Ziplining was not scary really, but it was tons of fun and interesting to try the upside down flips etc. Glacier hiking, for me personally, was a bit nerve-wrecking. Going up was cool and enjoyable but coming down, urgggh. Time for some minor admissions: I'm afraid of speed I can't control and I have this fear of falling. (So yeah, I've never tried skiing either.) Still, regardless, I went for it. At that time I did wonder if I've lost my mind.

On my list next year though is skydiving - must choose a location good for that. And at some stage, I will go skiing too. I want to try it at least once, regardless of the fears that I've got. Who knows, maybe I can work at conquering them.

That's a great attitude! You're right- it's all about conquering yourself, and it might not need to be a huge, scary thing at all- just something new and memorable. Good on you- let me know how the skydive/skiing feels!

I do think it used to be the highest for a good number of years, and it's still really popular. I can imagine why- it's one of the most scenic bungy platforms I've come across.
