How to travel between Greece, Egypt, Israel

I'm going with my family for 2 weeks in Greece (Athens, Crete, island-hopping) and we would like to go to Alexandria and Cairo for a couple of days at the end of our trip, then I would like to go to Tel Aviv and visit a friend there before returning back to the USA. Primarily I'm wondering the best way for the family to get from Greece to Egypt and back, secondarily, how I will do that, then get to Tel Aviv. I'm looking for the easiest and/or cheapest routes!

It's Amy again, I wanted to add that I do not mind taking planes, ferries, buses, etc!

The best way is to fly.

Thereare plans to run a ferry between Cyprus and Egypt in summer 2010 (but only Allah knows whether it will operate). Unfortunately said ferry takes ages to make the passage and it is not any cheaper than a flight.

A "couple of days" is pretty much cinches that flight is your only way. If you went overland those days would be spend on the bus or the ferry.

You got the choice of flying either from Athens or Istanbul. From some Greek islands it is better and easier to get to the Turkish mainland and then take the bus to Istanbul than to go back to Athens. Plus one-way flights from Istanbul to Cairo are generally cheaper than one-way flights from Athens to Cairo.

From Cairo it is relatively easy to get to Tel Aviv. You got the option of flight or bus. Bus takes about 2 days with some changes. I don't recommend taking it if you are in a hurry and don't have the time to stop along the way to relax and sightsee. Flight is relatively expensive compared to the bus, but if you can afford it go for it.
