I would love the opinion of some experienced travellers or Aussies. I have decided to get myself over to the East Coast of Australia in early 2010 but have since read about the different weather patterns and am not sure what the best time of year/month to make the trip. We will be flying into Cairns and then spending up to 3 weeks travelling down to Sydney before flying back out to London. I was going to book the flights for around 10th Feb (ish) but is this a good time to make the trip or should we wait a couple of months?
Hi rag7 - I live in Queensland and if you don't mind hot weather you will be fine because February is rather humid especially from Cairns down through the coast but it is beautiful - have lots of storms and it is the cyclone season but we have plenty of warnings and they let you know to get going - anytime is a good time for travelling just remember it is not the heat but the humidity that slows you down - have a great time
I have tried Sydney in January and it was extremely hot. there were a lot of activities that were cancelled because we couldn't stand the heat. but, in March, its not as hot anymore...
