As you have ages, head south into Kerala, visit Periyar National Park and maybe stay on a houseboat near Alleppy, then head to Cochin for a few days and maybe spend some time on the beach in Kovalam. Head north-east to Varanasi, a must visit for India and then maybe through Agra, see the Taj before arriving in Delhi.
This would be a good little route to take in, but it also depends what your interests are?!
