so...how is it in bangkok now.

It is my understanding that the red shirts have calmed down and the city is a little safer for travel. I am heading into BKK soon and I am just wondering if it would be a good idea to head to khao San Road for a few days, or just head right down to the islands. If any of you are more informed than I am please let me know.

The protests have ended and the curfews lifted.

It should take some time for the parties involved to decide on their next steps.

For the most up to date advice check out the FCO website. It no longer advises travel against any part of Thailand. This also affects your insurance which is great news for anyone travelling to Thailand. Life now continues as normal!

Everything is quiet on the streets on Bangkok. All is returning to normal.
Whatever you do, don't miss out on Khao Sarn Rd. That area has been protester free for almost two months.
Anyway, all the curfews have come to and end and i can't see a single colored group out on the streets. This is the time to come back to Bangkok for sure!

Hello all

Thanks for the replies. Frank_bkk I will definitely be visiting Khao San. I stayed there last time I was in the city and I wouldn't pass it up again. I land in BKK on October 13th so I am crossing my fingers and hoping that all stays tame.

Thanks again
