Hi ,I am planning a trip to for 3 weeks to take in vietnam cambodia and the south Thailand beaches.Thinking of spending a week in each place.Can anyone recommend a starting point and a sample itinerary.I was thinking of arriving and leaving from bangkok and working around that.I dont mind having to take a few short flights.

I don't think 3 weeks is enough for 3 countries. 1 week in Thailand, 1 week Cambodia, 1 week in VN is just not practical. You are not allowing yourself enough time to do anything but jump on/off planes, buses, boats. I would pick 2 countries and drop one.
If you insist on all 3 countries, I would fly : BKK-SGN. Spend your 7 days in HCMC, delta, perhaps bus up to for 2-3 days. Bus from . 2-3 days in PP, up to Siem reap, 3 days , from SR to BKK. Then fly Air Asia to and hit some of the is perfect. Day trip it or stay there. You can from Krabi or Railay. Perhaps a ferry over to for 2 days. Fly KBV- BKK and home.

I agree with vegasmike. You don't have enough time to do all 3 countries. I would suggest Thailand and Cambodia (Siem Reap and Phnom Penh only though with the timeframe)
