only inbound flight - do i need proof? vietnam

hello everyone.

When I went in 2007 I booked a one way from BKK to HCMC. I didn't get asked if I had a outbound flight. As long as you have your visa I think you should be okay...

Have a great time

hey Seany.

i just checked and i realised i do not need any visa to enter vietnam as long as it is within 30 days.

so... what now?

regards

so... what now?

still get a visa to be on the safe side? I know, quite an expensive option ...

Shan,
One of the advantages of living in a ASEAN country. You get 30 days free on arrival. Since SIN has a VN Embassy, perhaps you might stop by and chat about your planned holiday. They might have some ideas on what to see/do and route. I assume you are flying Jetstar into HAN and out of SGN. Probably the cheapest flight into VN.

I prefer the bus system when travelling between HAN & HCMC. Cheap, convenient, best way to travel IMO. Others prefer the train system because of the saftey issue. No question trains are safer than buses. Here is a good for train travel in VN. Bus is cheap, more frequent, trains are safer, your decision.

Good luck with your planning and send me a PM if you have questions about VN.

Oh, so no problems at all!

hello everybody!

thanks for the very very relevant replies.

i know i do not require any visa at all. but dont know if they will detain me, bomb me with shitload of questions if they realised that on arrival, i have no departure flight.

but again, i think, i will just depart from hanoi! i dont know! should i just be daring, get a one way ticket in first, do everything from there, dont think too much, just do it, then think about what i wanna do when i get there?

i realised that nothing gets down when one thinks too much..

regards

Why not just book a return flight? Its cheap as chips and if you decide not to use it you haven't lost much!

the return flight will cost me another 140 SGD. and i might want to head over to hcmc!

Why don't you fly Jetstar into HAN, travel down to HCMC and fly home from there? I flew into HAN years ago and left by bus to Phnom Penh. The VN officials don't care anymore what route you take out of VN. I would go over to the VN Embassy in SIN and chat with them. That should answer all your questions.
