Could you tell me please.....
I think part of travel is learning that there is nothing you can't live without.
Things that have made my travel more enjoyable are, ear plugs and a good book.
Something else that has been really useful is the 3 small meshed travel bags I have that hold underwear, socks, and tee shirts. It makes it a lot easier to find things in my backpack and keeps it more organized. Here's one company that sells them
Things Ive learned that I can always travel with less of are clothes. People always make the mistake of packing so many clothes. I have a few well made clothes that are hard wearing and easy to wash and dry. Albeit its a bit embarrassing that I have pictures of me all over the world for over 3 years, all with the same tee shirt on, but hey who cares.
Funniest thing I saw, was sharing a dorm room in Australia with 5 guys from England. On getting ready for a night out, each took a hair straightener from their backpacks!

Great advice Dodger, I guess everyone has their own opinions on what can or can't be taken. It's good to get as much advice/tips as possible. I'll learn myself through the whole experience though I should imagine.
Cannot believe they took hair straighteners, I've already decided I will let my hair be natural for he whole trip, allow it to be a luxury on my return!!
