That's currently not possible, at least not the first time a person (defined as a unique email address) leaves a comment (without being logged in as a Travellerspoint user). Once you have approved a comment from a particular email address, they will be auto-approved from then on. Members of Travellerspoint can comment and it will be approved automatically.
I know it's a bit of a pain, especially when travelling, but if it wasn't for this, the blogs here that allow public commenting would be inundated with auto generated comment spam.
