I'm Australian and will be going to Cambodia in less than a week. I know that we need a tourist visa- is it ok to get it upon arrival? I heard that this is possible but it doesn't actually say so on any official Cambodian gov website.

Yes. But it does depend on the border that you plan to cross. Some smaller borders dont do Visa on arrival.
