hello all. new years we are staying in denerau, just wondering whats going off around new years in fiji. in a perfect world id be after some club playing trance music till 8am jan 1st. im a back packer and want to be with backpackers, get sloshed, dance all night, and mingle. i imagine there are a few party spots about. i just want to avoid been around families eh.
I haven't been to Fiji for New Years, but Denarau Island is where all the classy properties are mostly 4.5-5 Star so is not really going to have backpackers as they aren't usually willing to spend $200+ a night on a hotel room. The most popular property and party property with backpackers in Fiji is Beachcomber Island and that does go off every night (not too sure about New Years Eve but can't see it would be any less roudy than normal and you can certainly get sloshed to your hearts content!). Maybe someone else might have been for New Years Eve, but like I said Denarau is full of the high end market not low end market.
If you're more of a backpacker, check out the Skylodge (Tanoa Hotel in Nadi). Denarau is a much different set.
