I've been travelling to town (Siam etc) on the public buses that leave near Khao San Road, in Bangkok and have been puzzled when several times, no one's collected any fares from the passengers even though on at least one occasion, there has actually been a fare collector (in uniform) on the bus.
I've been on these buses many, many times and never heard of this. It's strange as inspectors sometimes get on and check tickets.
Consider a 79 bus from KSR ro Siam Square. Only a little dearer, and it's air-conditioned. One way only.
