Hard to say, you will more than likely meet like minded people anyway but will say that it can bir a bit daunting if your on your own and could be a bit lonely at times if your unlucky enough not to find some friends on the way.
maybe wait till one of your friends can afford it, wouldn't want to waste all that money on a trip you don't fully enjoy?
hiya! From reading different forums etc, most people ive seen are travelling to oz on their own to begin with and maybe happen to find a person with similar plans on the boards etc. i was quite surprised by how many people go solo.
Im heading out there next month on my own. Well i say that but ive booked with oz intro for the first week just so i definitely have people to meet when i get there. You could maybe look at something like that? It is quite expensive but im doing it more for the social part rather than them organising banks etc so decided it was worth it!
Maybe people who have been travelling will have a different opinion but the way im looking at it is theres no point on missing out on an opportunity you have just because noone else wants to do it. you'll meet people on the way and if you really dont enjoy it can easily come home and say you've tried it! Im kind of going with the expectations that at times i'll wish i was with my friends etc but that'll pass!
Hey, im heading to oz on my own at the start of january, so if anyone fancies a meet, even for a few drinks or to travel with give me a shout. From what i've heard about oz intro it seems to be a little too expensive for stuff you can do on ur own. A lot of ppl u meet r gonna be in the same boat as urself (like me) so ul no doubt land on ur feet! Il c u's out there!

Hey I am going alone on Feb 5th and am booked onto oz intro for the 8th, it is a bit epxensive but i would rather pay and know I have a group to meet, I already have spoken to some of the ppl who will be on the same weeek as me so am feeling less nervous by the day

im planning on doing oz intro at the begining on Aug 2010, 2 weeks before that i want to do the thai intro.
i know it is a bit expensive but i want the reassurance that everything will be sorted for me when i arrive - phone, bank, etc and i will be meeting ppl in the same situation.
i will be going on my own, like you none of my friends can afford it - Uni or have their own family.
i have no plans after my first week in oz but planning on having enough money to last for 2 months so i dont have to worry about finding a job right away, then going with the flow.
when are you thinking about going?
Hi guys, I'm also going to Oz by myself in Feb 2010, planning on doing a bit of travelling then finding a job and settling in somewhere perhaps, very excited about going but really really nervous and scared too. Was meant to be going with someone but that person let me down, but I'm determined to get there so I'm going it alone
Not too sure where I'm starting out to yet, would like to have done the Oz intro but i have already got my visa so going to do everything independently now, but I'm hoping everyone will be friendly when I get there, I reckon most people do this on there own now so should be fine, but I'm up for meeting you guys for a drink, so give me a shout if anyones interested
