As I will be spending 3-4weeks in Thailand April 2010, and me, gf and 2 mates have never been scuba diving we have decided to scuba dive in thailand.
We would like to know what to expect price wise, how easy it is or how well they teach you, and best locations?
any advice or opinions would be gratefuly recieved!!!

I learned to scube dive in thailand in 2007, i am by no means an expert but this is what i did. I leanred on Koh Tao which is a 2 hour ferry from Koh Phan Nan. there willl be be plenty of people trying to sell you their dive courses in teh ferry if you just want to sort it out whilst your there. I did mine with Ban's which i think is the largest resort around there. For a 4 day padi including accommodation i paid about 9000 Baht but the exchange rate was much better then.
Guides where great, friendly and encouraging and they filmed your dives and played them on a big screen on the last night of your course.
