Hello this is 1st post as I'm doing Yucatan (a 2nd trip) then heading into Belize & hopefully all way to Panama--what info that would help transport (Tica or others) & what would a realistic budget be --I'm thinking &60/$80 but not sure if over/under cos want accom with hopefully a safe/saftey box to store valuables so as to minimise carrying stuff--I regually spread money etc around body/clothing --also do most decent pubs have cafe or bar to use if u want not to be out at night ALONE. Lots to ask I know but as a not so young I like to be carefull Hope for good feedback thanks guys
If you're looking for hotels with bars inside so that you don't go out, you're talking about higher end.
Most towns have little bars close. Your fears about going out at night are unfounded. 99 people out of a hundred are fine.
Don't bring a lot of stuff that you feel you have to store in a safety deposit box. That's an easy way of reducing your load.
