Bulgarian buses + soccer

Hi, I'm planning a trip to Bulgaria in April which I'm really excited about. The website for the state railways is excellent and provides all the info needed but trying to get hold of bus times and prices etc is proving very difficult.
We were looking at a day trip from Plovdiv to Bansko - using the narrow gauge railway in one direction. Is this do-able (I was planning to return to Plovdiv via bus) or would it better to stay the night in Bansko? We were also planning on visiting Rila Monastery from Sofia but maybe a day trip from Bansko would be easier?? Any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
On another subject, as a big soccer fan I am hoping to see a game or two but the fixtures don't seem available as yet for the second half of the season. Does anyone know when the season is due to re-start - I believe it will be early March - and when I will be able to find out the fixtures for the weekend of Sat 17th-Sun 18th April. Again any information would be most welcome.
Many thanks to anyone who takes the time and effort to help us out.
