The Hotel Essaouira, just off Jma el Fna, was always fun and very cheap.
Don't imagine you'll be sleeping on any roofs at the moment; although the days are warm, there is snow high up in the Atlas and nights are getting cold...
there are lots of cheap hotels in derb Boulawkate in the medina of Marrakech , close to Hotel Tazi.prices start at 100 dh and go to 400 dh

check Hotel Essaouira as it's the cheapest and best one in Marrakesh, and try also Hotel Adday; just next to Essaouira hotel; prices 55 MAD for single and 120 to 110 MAD for double.

Probably Riad Rouge. It's very basic, but good at the price. I think we paid around €9 a night in a shared room.
All we needed was a matress and a shower the following morning. We got both and no complaints whatsoever. Lovely staff too.
