There are a number of bush walk trails in the area - for example Mount Tamborine, and Mount Coot-tha has them (mountain biking is popular as well at Mt Coot-tha). If you do a search on your favourite search engine for something like brisbane bush walk you'll probably find others too.

the mount tamborine walk is highly recommended, and well organised. the other thing that i really enjoyed was hinterland ecotour, its relatively inexpensive and really informative. sometimes its good to have someone pointing things out you would otherwise miss.
