I have wife and kid overseas and wish to spend up to a year living with them overseas want know to this if you plan to transfer your own money to support them and yourself what is the best way to transfer money also what are the regulations for carrying cash when you abroad and if you use your own money to support your family

You can just do an international transfer through your bank to any international account. It's easy and quite cheap.
Alternatively, if you don't have an international bank account, just withdraw money from an ATM using your card from home. This works nearly anywhere nowadays.

This is what I did when I first moved to the UK. Much safer than taking a big whack of cash with you from your homeland.
As for regulations, it depends on the country you are moving to. You'd have to check on the specific countries regulations. However, if you are moving they to become resident (as you would be if you lived there a year), generally you can bring in enough money.
The cheapest, quickest and safest way I found when transferring money abroad is via Paypal. It cost me £6.50 in fees to transfer some money to my sister's Paypal account.
Your debit card should work at a hole-in-the-wall. However, my husband has been caught out a couple of times when his card just refused to give him any cash this way despite informing the bank here that we're off on holiday, and we've had to just withdraw money over the counter at the banks in HK and Malaysia.
I think it's always advisable to carry a hundred bucks or so to see you through the first couple of days (taxis, food, emergencies etc) just in case
