New Years in Reykjavik or Tallinn?

Sander has indicated that this thread is about Iceland

Hey Sander,
I don't know anything about Reykjavik but I've been to Tallinn a few times where I've stayed in the Merchants House Hotel.

It's really well situated in the centre of the old town and is quite a lovely boutique hotel. You should have snow there at that time of the year and if you try to get out to the countryside you'll get full benefit of the season.

As for the Aurora B, I've seen it in St. Petersburg but not sure of Tallinn. I guess Yes, but then again it's just a matter of luck even with the predictions. I even saw it in Ireland once so you never know.

I really enjoy Tallinn (but not if there happens to be Stag Parties around), it has a nice homely feel to it and is really simple to get around. Your money should also last a little longer in Estonia than Iceland I guess (?).

Sorry if this is rather vague, but it may be some use. Enjoy wherever you go.

Thanks, Brendan! That hotel looks pretty nice indeed. I think we're leaning away from Tallinn for the moment due to the flight being pretty much at the far upper range of what we're willing to spend, but maybe we'll yet come back to it due to other costs being less, and if so, that hotel will probably be the first one we'll look at.

Great minds think alike, clearly, as I really liked the Merchant's House too. I love Tallinn in the snow!
