Hey guys!
I'd recommend flying to Sydney if you have to do it in 4 days. That way you can explore Melbourne while you're there, maybe go to the zoo and check out the Great Ocean Road then fly to Sydney on the 22nd or 23rd.
If you want to stay in Sydney for NYE then check out the sticky thread for TP members, they might still be taking bookings. I think it'll be hard to find somewhere to stay in the city around NYE this late in the year, parking in the city is always difficult...
the great ocean road is a must if you are in that area, renting a car is relatively cheap and its a beautiful drive, with some stunning beaches
