Hey i really interested in going to ireland its something i always wanted to do but i have no idea of where to start if there was anyone who could help me out with wat to do first i'd really apreciate it
cheers Adz.
If you're Aussie, I don't even think you need a visa, only up-to-date passport. If you've never traveled at all, I think you should see a travel agent, but don't write that check just yet - go for information only the first time, and then come back on TP to compare costs. Why not pick up an up-to-date Lonely Planet for Ireland and list the places you'd like to see, and start an itinerary to work with.
Are you going to live and work in Ireland or just going to visit? That would clear things up. Ive been to Ireland and its a beatiful country.

Ireland is so wonderful! Where all are you thinking of going? Dublin is charming and I would recommend Cork (and Kinsale just south of there and on the water, it's the "seafood capital" of Ireland). The Ring of Kerry is a tourist nightmare but really lovely, last time I was there we didn't do the entire ring, just saw the Torc Waterfall and saved ourselves the traffic nightmare.
You MUST go to the Cliffs of Moher, it is life-changing and more beautiful than anything I've seen. If there's time, from Doolin (near the Cliffs) or Galway you can take a ferry to Inishmore (one of the Aran Islands). It's a lot of fun in a secluded sort of way even though the weather is usually bad there. Doolin is a cool town too, great live music...
Enjoy!
