Hi
I am a 27yr old male from australia and my girlfriend is 24.
We are wanting to travel sth america for 6 months from june 1st. We want to go to Chille, Argentina, Bolivia, pretty much where ever we end up. Want to see as much as possible.
Just wondering is it still safe and doable with the recent earthquake. ??
Secondly, what country's will we require visa's for ??
Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks Chris
Visas in SA are largely based on the reciprocity principle: if they don't need a visa to enter Australia, you don't need a visa for their country. Also, consult the relevant articles in the . In general, you can't stay in any single country for more than 90 days. These restrictions tend to be enforced more and more strictly these days.
Re safety: Chile is pretty large. SA as a continent is huge. It's probably not a good idea to go visit the area that got hit, but outside it you should encounter no unusual difficulties.
Take into account you'll be travelling in winter. Southern Chile and southern Argentina (esp. Patagonia) will be bitterly cold. Better stick to the northern parts of both countries, and basically anything north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Climate will be perfect there.
