Looking for suggestions for 7 day getaway in February

Hi All - pleased to have found this forum - this is my first post

Since no one has replied so far, I might as well name a few places although without my own experience though.

Cozumel, Mexico and Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles. Good for diving!

Utrecht - thank you very much for your reply. I'll definitely check these out!

One of our best vacations every was a multi island charter on a private yacht with captain and chef. Cost was about $1,800 per person all inclusive and we saw everything from little party bars to remote places. If you love the ocean why not live right on it for a week? We used to be cruise ship people but will never do that again after seeing what we have been missing. The food was incredible, drinks always flowing and incredible scenery.

Thank you for the suggestion, one major benefit of the cruise ship over a smaller vessel is the stability in the water. I tend to get sea sick when on the ocean in smaller boats. The chance of this happening would be enough to deter me from risking my vacation on something like this.

I really appreciate the contribution to the thread though - if it weren't for my weak stomach, it would be an interesting option.

My girlfriend and I spend 8 days in Belize (with a day trip into Guatemala) and we loved it! For the first 4 days, we stayed on Caye Caulker and had a blast. We stayed on the nicest hotel on the island, and it was only $105 nightly. We both got our scuba certifications there and I highly recommend choosing Belize for diving.

For a change of pace, you could always split your time between Caye Caulker (laid back) and San Pedro (more touristy) - both are only a 25 minute boat ride apart. The best part about Belize is its only a 2 hr flight from the US. The remainder of the trip we spend exploring the Cayo and seeing the Mayan ruins as well as ATM cave.

You betta Belize it!

Rob

People rarely get sick on a catamaran and the islands of the BVI are so protected wave action can be avoided. I get sick on sports fisherman and powerboats that bob around. A sailing catamaran is very stable and there is rarely a problem. In fact the slow large movement on a cruise ship can be more nauseating then a smaller stable catamaran.
