can anyone advise me if i apply for a working holiday visa for Oz does it normally cost about $500 Ozzie bucks? and does that mean i can work in NZ too?? im a little shocked at how much it is.. and am wor=ndering will i have to pay this for both countries??

A working holiday visa for Australia costs AUD $235 when applying of the Australian Department of Immigration. Don't bother going through anywhere else, as they'll have to go through the same process, and charge rather hefty amounts of money for it.
The Australian WHV does not allow you to work in New Zealand; you'd need to get a separate , which costs NZD $120 at the official New Zealand Immigration website.
thats really good news!!! thank you so much! although i still cant see on the NZ website where it says $120!! i must have been looking at a completely different site for Oz as it was nearly double! cheers for your help! do you know if there is a time limit prior to entry?? im heading from Santiago (Chili) to NZ but am thinking i may bring the dates forward as i really need to start making some $$$!!!!
whats the work situation like in NZ??? I just need to tread water really.. i have been travelling for 3 months and have managed to keep the spending down as have been couch surfing but think i need a break from that now and will hostel it for a while in NZ!

Yeah, I couldn't easily find that either - I eventually pulled that figure out of a for all possible visas and permits.
do you know if there is a time limit prior to entry??
As far as I'm aware, New Zealand has the same policy as Australia: you can enter anytime within a year from the date that the WHV has been granted.
