When are you going to oz, im going on 6th november and then doing the ozintro thing on the 8th, after that I have no idea what i'm gunna do but i need to get a job a sometime
yea its cheaper,ive stayed there before and is good hostel,easy to get into sydney 15mins on bus,im getting there at start of november and also looking at doing ozintro on the 8th!u booke danything yet?takes a few days for booking to go thru at noahs,wanted xmas on the beach!
Well I booked everything last night so just have to pay for it all now still don't know whether to book somewhere for christmas now or when I'm over there. I'm just too excited to have any rational thoughts lol I know 3 other people who are doing the ozintro on the 8th and two people are gunna be on the same flight as me 9 weeks tomorrow
Im really worried as I cant find a hostel available over new year.... for xmas there are still rooms but not sure what hostel to book? Ahh has anyone got any advice? x
Are all the hostels really that booked up?? I'm backpacking along the east coast from Brisbane over Christmas and fancied new years in Sydney. Do you recommend I get places booked fast? I imagined I'd be able to turn up at places I wanted to stay and they'd have spaces.

Everybody wants to stay in Sydney for New Years. We generally recommend people to book accommodation for New Years before June/July, because after that the only things left are outrageously expensive or really bad. Just turning up definitely won't work - if you still find anything reasonable at this late point, I'd jump on it instantaneously. (Even Sydney's campings will be fully booked in about a month, iirc. (We had a group of travellerspoint members organizing a camping together last year. That's still something you could reasonably expect to look into and find space at, but other than that I don't give you high chances...))
yea i would defo book a hostel before you go,i booked mine nearly two months ago,staying in bondi as want xmas on the beach and is easy to get to sydney from,and hostel is a lot cheaper,ive stayed there before and had a great time,well sarah looks like il be seeing you in oz on ozintro!im booking my flight on saturday,how much was your flight?
Yikes youve all really worried me now!! I land in Sydney on 6th Dec - 2 days before my birthday and i havent booked anything for Xmas/New Year!!! What is the Oz intro? Anyone travelling the gold coast around this time???

My brother was out here in Oz last year and he ended up crashing at some random bloke's house in bondi that he met while he was out one night. all the hostels were booked out and he didnt think it would get that bad. i came out to australia with travellers contact point and when i got here i booked everything for chrtistmas and new year with them. Can't wait for it, i am almost back in sydney now and am about to start work and save up for a massive xmas and ny down under.
My advice is get booking those hostels now else you'll be sleeping on the beach.
