I recommend Paluse in Lithuania. Is a nice place sorrounded by lakes. You can rent a room, a boat and a bike there.
September can be nice weather for biking and walking if u dont fall on rainy week. I doubt if u could swim in the lake - it already cool waters in Lithuania and in Poland too. ( i lived for 25 years in this climate). If u have luck with weather - Sept can b beautiful and gold-autumn, sunny and pretty warm (jeans and light jacket, or even T-shirt in warmest days). Nature is pastel colors in both places, very soft light, should b nice.
