Hi,
Hi
August/ September are generally some of the best months to travel to Sumatra weather wise as this is the dry season for the island. The monsoon rains don't normally start until November and carrying on until March. The general climate for Sumatra this time of year should be temperatures of 22-29'c and if you get a rain shower, it is normally either early morning or late afternoon and is generally over before it starts normally.
I think that you should trust the advice of your hosts and the locals as they live with the island's weather day in day out. At the end of the day online weather forecasts can be wrong, as after all they are only forecasts and predictions of what might happen rather than what is actually happening on the ground.
Hope this helps and enjoy your Honeymoon.
Hi,
This is supposed to be the dry season but this year in Sumatra there has been quite a lot of rain- actually quite a lot of rain throughout Indonesia.
Having said that, rain is usually showers for an hour and then clear skies and sunshine so you should be ok.
Rain also reduces the humidity and makes everything a lot cooler so you will probably be welcoming an overnight shower for superb days.
Have a wonderful time.
