I'm trying to find out prices both single and return, but so far unsuccessfully. Traveling on a week day in a couple of weeks, but not looking to book ahead as no fixed plans. Any thoughts welcome. I might even consider a bus, though I'm hoping train fares are low enough not to bother.
The says it's 37 zlotys (some 10 euros), but I'm not sure that is fully reliable.

Thanks for the link. Seems the 37 zlotys is a return fare and even cheaper than a single!
Now all I need to do is learn how to ask for one.
Take care to ask for the exact train; we got stuck paying a fine because we were on some interregion train that cost more. The conductor was kind of a jerk about it, which didn't help. But Wroclaw is awesome!

"Return to Krakow Please".... "Powrot do Krakowa Prosimy"
"Single (one way) to Krakow Please".... "W Jedna Strone Do Krakowa Prosze" - I think ! !
The price depends on the kind of train you are travelling. I think that the price for single and return is almost the same. It is not important what day you choose, the price is always the same. Remember, there are a few kinds of trains and it is the best to take TLK or IC (IC is more expansive than TLK because you need to pay for a place reservation and you have number of a particular seat). IR trains are the cheapest but unfortunately not as comfortable as IC. And EC means Euro City and it is a kind of international train which is the most expansive. There is a connection many times a day. Price for TLK is 48PLN for 2nd class and 73PLN 1st class. IR 37PLN and there is only 2nd class. And the Wroclaw Railway Station is being rebuild now so look out for the right platform!
Thanks dxdwro, for the information so far. There is another question that you may be able to answer for me - seeing as you live in Wroclaw - though I've posted it in a new thread - . If you have a moment, I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.
And about polish- flyingbob was almost perfect. Correct should be:
A single ticket to Krakow: "Bilet w jedna strone do Krakowa poprosze" and remember to ask for right train, I mean TLK, IR or IC because even if you pay more for IC the ticket is not valid in IR etc. It is important because if you have not valid ticket you have to pay for another on train and then return the wrong one on the railway station.
A return ticket to Krakow: "Bilet powrotny do Krakowa poprosze"
and here you can check everything: www.pkp.pl
Very useful stuff. Thankyou.
