Backpackers Insurance

Hello peeps

Price should always be the 2nd factor when considering insurance.
First you must read the cover and smallprint from start to finish - and make sure that the policy gives you everything you want, from immediate repatriation in case of an emergency, to replacing your passport and cash if it gets stolen. Cheaper means nothing, when it comes to being fully covered.
There will be no problem getting a further 6 months cover. Just ask your present insurer (get in touch with them on line, via 'Contact us') to extend your present policy.

Hi

Thanks I didn't think about extending it I will bear that in mind and look into it

I've booked mine with STA Travel (blue Premier cover), they definately do 18 month cover and I think possibly up to 24 months, and it can be extended while you're away. I spent ages comparing policies, it sounds daft but as well as the usual serious stuff included in insurance policies, I also chose them because they cover for stuff like Skydiving and zorbing and a lot of policies don't! So it's also worth considering what you may want to do over there as well to make sure you're covered.

Thanks I'll have a look at STA Travel. I'll definitley want cover for the extreme sports so that's likely to bump the price up!
