brynhowell has indicated that this thread is about North America

It would help if you could be a bit more specific... What are your interests? And, what do you mean by "get around" - rental vehicle, bus, train, plane? Members will be able to give you answers to your question if they have a bit more detail of your plans and thoughts on your travels.

America is a big country with lots to see and many modes of transportation.

Well we are looking into renting a car or an r.v Will this be alot of money ? Also we are there 95 days will this be a problem with the visa ?

Two times yes

I spent a total of 2 years, in several bites, travelling the US Mexico and Canada in a medium size RV that I bought for $5,000. Drove it 80,000 miles, spent a few $1,000s on repairs, gave it away when I stopped.

I think RV is the way to go. You save on hotel bills and restaurant food, if you research a little you can find overnight parking for free. You don't need to worry about not finding rooms in a motel, at very worst you just pull up in a quiet spot off the road and hope no one grumbles.

For 90 days (the maximum allowed on a visa) it's a bit tight to have the time to buy, and then sell, an RV. I just went to Australia for 2 months, bought and then sold, the time spent buying and selling ruined the holiday. I suggest you rent. It'll cost you an arm and a leg although you may find a good deal for 3 months if you look around. Don't go too big. 20 or 22 ft will let you get into regular parking spaces for shopping etc.

Don't drive all the time. Stop often, to look at museums, go hiking, whatever. It's cheaper and more fun than driving.

Enjoy your trip. For accounts of my travels see -snip-
