Day Trips in Thailand???? ADVISE NEEDED

I am travelling through Thailand in May and wondering do I have to pre book day trips or can you book them as you travel through??

Book as you go. They'll be no shortage of booking agents and different prices - and all will be cheaper than booking before you get there.

Only if you plan on doing something really unusual or special does it make a lot of sense to book ahead of time.

In the major cities like Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Phuket you can sign up for tours through local travel agencies. Just visit a couple travel agencies near your hotel and see what is on their list of popular tours. Choose one and put up the money. Tour company will pick you up at your hotel and return you there safely at the end of the little trip. You get to meet other tourists this way. Most of the trips are in passenger vans. Bring toilet paper, sun block and hat to keep the sun off your face. Have fun.

Some of the popular places out of Bangkok are Bridge on the River Kwai, dinner cruises, floating markets, visits to temples and palaces, Ancient City, Crocodile Farm and Elephant show, etc. In Chiang Mai you can sign up for tours and simple treks. Popular tours are to the Golden Triangle and to Long Neck Villages. Out of Phuket James Bond Island is not a bad little trip, usually boat ride with food.

Some hotels also provide tours. Usually find a tour one day and leave the following morning.

Have fun.
