Hey in short; Me and a friend are planning on doing the overland trip at the end of the year, November. The trip duration will be About 3months. Mostly we will camp and rough it out. Cost of the trip will rougly be around $ 4000-$5000 per person. and we are looking for people willing to undertake this amazing yourney with us. We are students at the North-West University in South-Africa so we are looking for anyone that is young, energetic and easy going. Male or Female. This is only a brief overview of the trip but we plan on doing alot along the way.. Malawi lake. Zanzibar of the coast of Tanzania, The Serengeti, Gorillas in the Congo and maybe Kilimanjaro just to name a few. Please let us know if you are interested??

no youre crazy. no person in their right mind should be traveling through north africa if there are not from africa.

my friend cycled from south africa to egypt on the east part of africa on an expedition a few years back. their route was similar to the one you are planning. they also camped a lot.
should you need the gps coordinates of the camp sights they used, send me private message and i will try to get the list for you.
he said the only part which was a bit sketchy was north of ethiopia. he said it was advisable to get some info on the actual situation on the route.
east-north of sudan and egypt were totally safe at that time. sudan might potentially be a problem if conflicts arise between south and north from the split. egypt is also on the news nowadays...
oh, he also said: be carefully with those hippos and scorpions...
