Any tips for my holiday?

Hey All,
I am planning on taking a small trip this summer after I have finished college....my reward for a tough year.
I recieved flight vouchers for my birthday last summer and want to use them before they expire, they can only be used in Europe.
So my plan is a two week trip, somewhere hot, with nice beaches, good food and not too expensive.
I dont want to go anywhere that is very touristy, would prefer somewhere more authentic.
Any recommendations for me

hmmmm, if you want beaches and somewhere hot, then obviously stick to southern Europe (Portugal, Spain, Southern France and Italy). I would add Croatia and Greece too but they are very touristy. I think Montenegro is worth a look. It is hot and cheap and not as touristy as the other places (yet).

There isn't many places in Europe with coastlines that are not over run with tourists in the summer because they all go to the coast as well as the tourists.

Montenegro and Croatia would be a nice trip, you can have a bit more peace and quiet in Mont but some sightseeing and some fun in Croatia. You can even do a sail along the coastline.

Portugal is a great country, it is getting crazy popular at the moment, especially in the south around Lagos, the Australians have discovered it. But Portugal is a great country, a bit cheaper and more chilled and friendly than Spain.

Spain, France and Italy are all beautiful but a lot more expensive. Greece is too hard, its far away, their economy is shit and for what you would pay you would get something nicer elsewhere.

The other suggestion would be maybe Turkey, you can do some amazing sailing trips down there and heaps cheaper.

haha, the Australians have certainly discovered Lagos and Croatia too.

The key to avoiding tourists is to suss out smaller towns or off the beaten track places (if you can find them).

Hello,

You may visit Greece as it combines the nice weather with the amazing beaches and you may visit us at the end of May so you will avoid the crowd. I suggest to visit Rhodes and and Naxos
island because Santorini and Mykonos are rather expensive during the summer period.

Hey All
Thanks so much for your advice. Greece and Croatia sound like interesting options.
I really would like to check out Montenegro. I dont know anyone that has ever been there
so I have been looking it up on the internet and it sounds. Can anyonre recommend a good place to go in Montenegro?

Kotor and Budva are the main places people seem to visit. Kotor is a nice little city and Budva has nice beaches and nightlife etc and is getting quite popular.
I've not heard about what it has to offer inland but the coastline is lovely.

The island Dugi otok in Croatia, if you like undiscovered island, nice beaches, good food, maybe fishing. There are Ryainair flights to Zadar, a old nice town.
I have been on the island several times and I find it ideal for relaxing holidays.
