Some 25 years ago a travel acquaintance gave me some great advice:
"choose your next destination according to the timeliness of that city/country."
Myanmar (aka Burma) - emerging from isolation at last, but this nation presents major travel problems to the traveler (lack of hotels, transport infrastructure not up to par, visa difficulties and major banking limitations).
Cuba - the relationship with the USA is about to change dramatically.
Commonwealth of Independent States - major economic problems still haunt these former Soviet States as they attempt independence:
Georgia
Ukraine
Moldova
Belarus
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan
Uzbekistan
Turkmenistan
Kyrgyzstan
Tajikistan
I'm sure there are many more in this category!
I would like to ask if you ever been in Azerbaijan because you speak about economic problems like you live there and you know real situation in our Country.
