Im going to be in Beijing for 2 weeks, Xian for 2 weeks & Lhasa for 2 weeks.What should I expect to pay for cheap food - I don't eat a lot so im looking for the cheapest option per day.
Xi'an, I think a delicious fried noodle or rice toppling from Western China restaurants should cost around 10 RMB to 12 RMB... Some noodles can go as low 6 RMB and they are good as well.
There are so many places to eat in the Big cities... local people work there, so there should be those places that look like noodle shops. My ussual favorite are those Muslim restaurants, they have fantastic noodles and rice toppings. 13 rmb and up. The noodle soups are cheaper. In counties, the prices are definitely cheaper, I can spend 6 rmb for rice and stir fry. There was even a time, when it was 3rmb, that was 2007.
