I'm planning to book a fligh tonight with Emirates which will stop over at Dubai. Is it worth staying for a couple of nights?
Dubai is expensive and a very strict muslim country. Lots of ex-pat foreigners languishing in it's jails there for very minor things. I would not stay there.
Tokyo is hardly the place for someone on a tight budget. Have you got some fairly cheap accommodation booked?
Lots of mini-marts about which aren't too badly priced for food.
The subway is easy to use. Press the destination button you want and feed in the small change. You'll see others doing it.
Its worth staying in dubai for couple of nights and i think dubai has the best parties in the world. So my suggestion is u stay in dubai and enjoy the new year... And i dont think it would be that expensive because the memories u will be taking with u are worth each penny spent. And if u need any help do contact me on

Dubai is an expensive city but you can enjoy there a lot there are many place where you can visit and spend time and make Ur holiday a memorable holiday

But I'm still not sure what to do. I might give it a miss and maybe if I have enough cash on the returrn home from KL to amend the booking and stop for a few nights.
I will have a WHV for Japan and a lump of cash but I'm sure Japan could easily exhaust this.
