Helloooo!! well not long til I`m off to the Philippines with 7 girls, just wondered if anyone has any useful/helpful info for me, do`s & don`t`s etc.... We`re flying into Manila then heading to Borocay as we only have 3weeks so don`t want to spend the whole time travelling! Any info is greatly appreciated!! Thankyou!
There aren't really that much rule in the country, everyone is just hospitable and Boracay is just awesome. I'd say that 3 weeks in Bora will be a fun time. did you plan to travel to other parts of the country like Palawan? it is awesome..
If you can, try to visit the Taal Volcano. I was there and went up all the way to see the crater lake. It was really beautiful!

Why would you go to Borocay if you can go to white sand beaches with big resorts all over the world??
When you're in Manila, go to Intramuros, the Chinese cemetery,...
And if you want to have some (low key) beachlife, go to Palawan with its underground river, bounty islands before the coast of Port Barton or the Bacuit archipelago in El Nido.
In North-Luzon, go to the rice terraces, the mummies of Sagada or the hanging coffins in Sagada.
In Negros, the old sugar cane factories or worth a visit, or plan a trip to Bohol with its Chocolate hills and funny tarsier.
And why don't you explore Mindanao, with its muslim culture,...?
Oh, there are so many things to do to fill your three weeks, so in my opinion it would be a waste of time to go to Borocay... (if I may give my opinion...)
Hi Kyels, Taal lake is kinda So-so place... Not that great IMO. I felt Taal lake was much better than the short trek to the crater and the crater lake...
3/4 days in boracay would be more than enough... if possible try RO-RO(Bus ferry combo) from boracay to manila. Costs some 1000PHP.
Most of the places are well connected by flights... If i remember correctly there is a direct flight from boracay to palawan on Wednesdays instead of getting back to manila to get a flight to palawan and thus save time.

Why fly all the way to the Philippines and only see a beach? I hope you are taking some time out to see other parts of the Philippines. Will you be skipping Manila completely other than just the airport? Fear not, you will be able to get a tan even in Manila! It might be helpful to at least spend a day or so in Manila in the beginning of your trip and perhaps a final night before you fly home.
I have never come across women who do not have any interest in shopping at all! Perhaps you could spend some time checking out the Mall of Asia and some of the local markets. Although I personally prefer the Robinson Mall in Ermita, a visit to the largest mall in Asia might be something to talk about! If some of these "women" are children perhaps they would benefit from visiting some museums and historical landmarks like the Corregidor "Light and Sound" show. It doesn't hurt to actually learn something on a holiday!
