Hi everybody,
Hey Everyone.
My travel season is just begining. First I'm going to drive out to Idaho from Michigan, leaving the day after Christmas and stopping to ski in Bozeman, MT, and then I'll have 2 months of skiing in Kellogg, ID at Silver Mt. I rented a cabin out there, and am looking forward to being a ski bum.
In March, I'm driving south to Southern California and Joshua Tree National Park. Head east to the Cochise Stronghold in AZ, further east to the City of Rocks in SW New Mexico. I'll be climbing, and hiking and biking in this desert country. A nice change of pace from the snowy and cold north.
I'm going to try to be back to Michigan by Mid April where I'll spend a couple of days regrouping before I drive up to Prince Rupert, B.C. to catch my ferry which will take me to Sitka, Alaska and my summer job.
In Mid September, I'll drive back down to the states, starting in Washington and North Cascades National Park. Then I'll head east to Glacier National Park, South East to the Bighorn Mts. of Wyoming, East to the Bad Lands National Park of S.D. and finally back home to Duluth MN.
I decided it was high time that I drove around Lake Superior, so in October I'm going to drive around the lake and hit my favorite parks, and check out the Canadian side.
I know this sounds like a lot, and it is. Fortunately, I love the open road, and am quite happy to be exploring the greater American west and Canada.
Happy Travels Everyone!!!
Hello everyone,
All my plans this year are Europe based this year, so far. Going to have a short trip to Dieppe in the beginning of the year then hoping to do a language course for a couple of weeks in Lyon following that.
Hopefully the Arrow Rock festival will be on later in the year in Holland, but if not I'll be going there anyway. Also thinking of somewhere else to go following that.
By next December I'm going to do a Christmas city tour for a few weeks. Starting in London and visiting plenty of places on a loop back round.
I hope that I can find some more money and time and do some other things this year too!
I'm all Asia'd out for a coupla years so looking at 4-5 weeks in Botswana and Namibia starting early November 2010.
Last weekend my wife mentioned something about taking our 3 year old grandson to Bali for a long weekend sometime in April 2010 Is she MAD!!!!
Coupla days snorkelling Gili Meno in August/September may be on the cards to break up the cold winter
I'm counting the days till Jan 8, when we'l leave to the Philippines for about 31 days, visiting some cocoa plantations in Mindanao (my wife is a chocolatier...), do some snorkelling and visit our (Belgian) friends in Bohol.
I'm looking forward to leave the snow and cold winter behind !!!!
Countdown begins for me now, as ive just finished work for what could be a 10 month or so trip ... that feels good!
Jan 6th i fly off to Miami for a brief 6 day trip b4 flying into Guatemala & @ a gradual pace explore central america, then i'll fly into Eqcuador and explore what south America has to offer ... and to make the trip that bit more special ive included a trip to both Galapagos & Easter island ... its on Easter island i will spend my 26th birthday ... special times!!
This is ofcourse provided i survive the festive period!
A trip is on the card to Malaysia in the summer, perhaps with side trips to Vietnam and Cambodia at around the same time. Will also be heading to Montpellier, perhaps in March or April, after one of my best friends settle in her new place there. We may also head to Andorra together then
The rest remains to be seen.
I have a lot of plans but I don't think that all of them can happen. My first plan is to visit a lot of beaches and old town in my very own country. maybe a weekend or a few days off work will oughta do it. of course a good old cruise will be great with the family on summer. I really wish I can visit Japan this year, but, by the looks of how things are going in the professional, social and private life, there wouldn't be any chance of doing so. I guess I would be more into road trips for this year. its cheaper than having to be in other countries and I have to be saving up for some stuffs in the future...
The longest trip (time wise) in 2010 is planned to be next December visiting Peter, dr. pepper and the rest of the family in Australia. I think the 'only' other 2 longhaul trips will be Beijing for a conference sometime around October and in June South Africa for the World Cup. Both of those destinations are new for me, so looking forward to them!!
Other than that there'll probably only be short haul trips back and forth to Sweden (work) and the Netherlands (visiting friends). One of my goals for 2010 is to finally meet up with some of the Dutch members in real life
