Best Place To Work in UK

Where is the best place to gain temporary casual work in the UK for a backpacker? I would like to stay in London but it is no doubt one of the more expensive places to live. Also, is it realistic to look for a temporary job that i will only be able to do for 3 months?

Ad - a 3 month job isn't unrealistic if you're not too choosy about the sort of work you plan to do (e.g. bar work). London is pricey and competition for jobs is fairly fierce at the moment but there are still more jobs here than anywhere else in the UK.

The West Midlands area has been worst hit by the recession with regards to work, there seems to be more job opportunities down south, so I would start my search there.

thanks for the advice.

Things like bar work, call centres, charity fundraising etc, are always taking on people and there are lots of travellers working in these jobs because they are usually short term and weekly paid.

London is v expensive to live in, and if youre doing a temp job, youre not realistically going to be earning enough to be super comfortable. However, I think its really worth it as London is an amazing city, that ive lived in 13 years and still havent seen everything.
there are some places that are cheaper than others in London, for example suburbs like Hounslow can be pretty cheap, and are only a short tube ride into central London. Have a look on before you go to find cheap flat-shares around london.

Good luck!
