I have read that you need to prove that you have 10, 000 baht per person upon arrival to Thailand as well as your return ticket. Just wondering the best way to carry that kind of money if I don't want to carry around that much cash and I won't have a visa. Can you print off a debit card sum or something to show? thanks!
I have flown into BKK at least 10 times over the years and have never been asked to show my money. The Thai Immigration officials can ask for proof of adequate funds, but they rarely do. 10K baht is not a lot of money anyway. A bit over $300USD. I carry at least $2K USD in travel checks every trip. Even if you prefer an ATM card, I suggest you also have $500 in travel checks with you. Problem solved. Good luck with your planning.

I have never been asked to produce any proof of support in over a dozen years or working or traveling to Thailand. I always have cash, debit cards and travelers checks with me anyway. If you look like a bum and they suspect you possibly may not have enough money to support yourself they could check you more closely. Credit card, debit card, travelers checks and of course cash will be okay.
Approximate value of 10,000 baht in Canadian dollars:
10 000 Thai baht = 336.710063 Canadian dollars.
(Actual value depends on the rate in use for the day you arrive.)
Some tourists who visit from countries much poorer than Thailand may undergo some additional scrutiny. Thailand does not want tourists from poorer countries showing up in Thailand and never returning to their own countries.
If you have a savings account you can ask that they issue a debit card. If your bank does not issue debit cards then deposit cash in a credit union. Most credit unions have debit cards. You do have to notify your bank or CU that you will be using their card overseas before you leave on your trip. Many credit unions also sell travelers checks to their members without any cost too!

We leave in 30 days on a RTW, first stop is Thailand, we aren't expecting to need more than say £200 for 8 days for hostels and food..
We got excursions booked and paid for already.
I'm hoping there are no issues.
The only time that you might be questioned is if you arrive looking like you have never seen 10,000 baht!
