Almeria Province problems?

Checked the changes in that article. Oddly enough I can not see those changes (the major one of 4,500 characters!!), it gives an error.

You seem to be the only one working on the guide a lot more than others. : ) (no offense to the others)

I guess it would be safe to revert this article (as was already done with the famous desers article, and block this user.), but before doing that it might be wise to have one of the admins have a look.

I think there is a problem with linebreaks being added when they shouldn't in the guide.

I spent almost a day trying to work that one out, with little luck, other than figuring out that it was down to the line breaks. The same problem is what stuffs up the applying of templates to existing articles sometimes.

In this case, I'm going to guess that the 4500 characters includes a whole heap of linebreaks. I'm really not sure why that has happened, but as a result, the function that takes care of comparing two versions is spinning out of control and timing out.

This particular bug has only been hit on two articles - Almeria and London. That does somewhat lower the priority against some of the other problems on the list.

Most of the photo editing problems I think are sorted to the degree that most people are happy with it. Doesn't mean it's perfect (ie, the Faroe Islands example you sent me), but it will at least work for the vast majority. It's clearly a very important area for us though, since a lot of people use the photo uploading. So naturally, we will focus development on those parts first.

If I look at the remaining bugs btw, they pretty much are in three areas - photos editing, map (most here in fact) and the wiki. Most other bits are working smoothly now which is great of course.. And the server has been humming along nicely for about 4 weeks now, which is a MAJOR improvement on how it was prior to the redesign.

Well, Hien helped me work out the issue, so I've fixed up what caused the massive Almeria edit and the blank lines being inserted all over the place.

I've edited the Almeria article to remove all the blank lines, but please do NOT try and compare the history. It will just time out, due to so many lines changing Basically, it's just not really capable of handling a change effecting so many lines.

I'm sure there's a few more articles where there will be a lot of extra spaces inserted unfortunately

Oh, and this bug was live since Sunday.

Thanks for all the work Peter, much appreciated.
After a month also totally used and satisfied with the new TP. Also glad everything works out fine, except the few ones you mention.

Regarding your last sentence: you mean the extra spaces that were already created? If so, I can try and see which ones are best to fix because of large blank areas. Some just create one extra line (especially lists), while others create many lines. The last ones are the most important to fix I guess. Just PM me if you like about this.

Yeah, the articles that were edited in the last few days. You can probably tell pretty quickly from the Recent Changes which ones have lots of lines. The ones with lists are probably the worst, because it will cause a new list to be created for each list item. Rather than one list with a lot of list items, those articles end up with a lot of lists with only one item each. Not sure if that makes sense, but that's what would happen

LOL, it made sense, but made me laugh even more. Thanks for that!
