I'm considering spending a couple of weeks in Bali/Lombok before flying onto Australia (rather than my original idea of Bangkok/Cambodia/Laos - just fancy something a bit different!)
You might be better off sticking with the original round the world ticket via Bangkok but flying to and from Bali with who offer very reasonable fares.
I went to Bali last year and visited Lovina, Tirta gangga and Ubud. If you have time Java is worth a visit too.
