I say go for it you will love Australia and Perth is beautiful not sure how the job situation is at the mo but get signed up to some agencies while your still here try Gumtree Australia as well just go for it you can always come home if you really hate and I can t imagine you will ill be in Syndey from Feb so if you end up east coast let me know !!! You ll meet loads of people your age just book into a hostel for the first few nights before you fly

I'm 31 and heading to Sydney for the first time on my own early December on a WHV. Not sure what I'm doing in Jan, but will probably be looking for admin type work too, while I'm there.
Like you, a lot of people think I'm a mad to go by myself, but going from other threads on here, elsewhere and from what other people have said to me, being on your own is the last thing to worry about. Plan wise...(I haven't planned a thing apart from booking xmas/ny hostel!) just book your flight and go for it, don't let anyone talk you out of it!

Thanks guys for the advice. It does seem going by the threads on here that there are lots of people who travel alone. It's good to know.
Perth, one of the most isolated cities in the world, has all modern conveniences and is a stunning place for a summer or winter holiday, so you are travelling alone do not worry...i do not think there will be any problem to travel alone.....have a great time.
Hey andy how long you planning on staying in Australia? Im planning on diong the same thing but I will prob be leaving in March. I havent planned anything yet. Hoping to travel round australia then do some work. then do some more travelling

I'm hopefully going to stay for 12 months - or until the money runs out! As I said I haven't made any plans at all, I'll need to find work at some point so I'm just going to play it by ear and see how it goes. Best (non)plan ever!
When do you get to Oz?
I am planning to go early next year..no later than april because of the visa I have I have to use by 30th April. Hopefully end of february. Got a few things to tie up here with work..need to rent my house out stuff like that.
I just have no plan at all!! It was kind of get to Australia and see what happens. Wanted to do it now, or ill never do it! Fed up with work and have got planty of years ahead of me to sit behind a desk!! Bit worried about going on my own but im sure it will be ok. Was probably gonna start in Sydney. Want to travel as much as possible and find work along the way. Want to get to see Thailand, fiji, new zealand as well.
