Canadian Working Visa

After some advice, really keen to go over to Canada for a year but obviously cant affford to it with out working whilst im there.

Seeing that you're from the UK: Starting from January 2011, you can . (So apparently before this, you could only do it through bunac.)

I had also come on here for the same reason - though does australia have the same process?

That's great news - and definitely not before time!!

I'm heading out to Toronto in 4 weeks time, and I've got a 1 year working holiday visa booked through BUNAC.

Got everything sorted (I think), but I'm wondering what the best way is to take money out there?

I'll have about £3000 saved up, and want to bring it all, in a secure form (i.e, not cash), but still be able to open up a bank account with what I have. Any ideas?

Leave it sitting in your bank account at home. Open a bank account in Canada. Transfer the money from your UK bank account to your Canadian account via internet banking (or have someone trusted at home do this for you). You'll probably have to pay like a £20 fee for the transfer, but you'll get the best exchange rate for the electronic transfer (much better than when exchanging or withdrawing cash), so that evens out swiftly.

I'll be off to Canada in 2012/13 hopefully, also wondering about Working Holiday Visas.. All I can find is info about student visas and I'm not a student, I'm 24.

How much does a WHV for Canada cost, roughly from the IEC page listed above?

Any further info would be appreciated.

The Canadian High Commission in London is responsible for WHP applications from citizens of the U.K. Information on the UK WHP is available at www.canada.org.uk/.You can find lots of information.
