What is the cheapest way to pre-book a ticket from Thailand?

Hello!
I bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok from the U.S., but I know that you can't just fly into a country on a one way ticket unless you have proof that you're leaving the country (which I WILL leave the country, but I just want to be flexible). I was planning on buying the cheapest airasia ticket out of Thailand I could find, just to show I was leaving, but now it appears AirAsia has changed their booking to make it impossible for an American with a Debit card to buy a ticket.
So,
My question is: does anyone know a cheap ticket I could buy (plane, bus, train, whatever) to anywhere, just to show that I am leaving Thailand?

Laura,
My Vegas friend has flown into Tland at least 30 times over the years, several on one way tickets. They have never asked to see an onward or return ticket. They can, but they don't. I would make sure your airline is OK with flying into Tland on a one way ticket. Some airlines will refuse to let you board w/o a return ticket. Check.

A train or bus ticket will not satisfy the Thai requirement for onward travel. It must be by air. Thai Imm. will give you a 30 day entry permit on arrival. With or w/o an onward ticket. They expect you to leave before the 30 days are up. Please do, as the penalties for overstay can be severe. Thailand is encouraging tourism, not making it difficult to visit. Honestly, I would not stress over the onward travel requirement.

Good luck with your planning.

Hi there! I've been to Thailand numerous times, so far i have not encountered this problem. If you are really concern about the proof of exiting Thailand, why dont you buy a train ticket to Kuala lumpur. The views you get by taking the train is amazing and also you can get tickets back to U.S in K.L, Malaysia.

Hope this help you.
