mabuhay we'll be going to KL and Saigon this coming may 14-25, (though we will have a sidetrip to phuket within 3days after KL) ..These is our first time to travel in KL and Saigon so we don't have much idea about this cities..Any backpackers hostel suggestions for KL and Saigon?

I suggest you stay in the Pham Ngu Lao area of HCMC. Plenty of low cost accommodation and cheaper restaurants. Heaps of travel shops as well. Most of the tours leave from this area. I have some photos of this area on . Good luck with your planning.
Hi Joel, Yes I stayed at the Xuan Spring Hotel 185/34 Pham Ngu Lao it was a nice room with cable tv and a friendly family run business. I think it was USD 12 per night back in 2008. Its a great area lots of bars and tours cafes. Check out the little bars in the back streets with the small red chairs. Saigon was amazing good luck

In HCMC, backpackers areas are on Pham Ngu Lao, De Tham & Bui Vien streets. Lots of choices according to your budget.
In Kuala Lumpur, most backpacker hostels are on Bukit Bintang area. If you want another area, quieter but still accessible, you may want to check out Backhome hostel.
